Food, allergies and hygiene
At our holiday clubs, children bring their own packed lunch and snacks. We ask every family to keep nuts out of the club so we can protect children with allergies. When Hyett Education does provide food, the staff involved hold a Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification and we follow a documented food safety management system.
At Tech Tigers clubs today
- Children bring a packed lunch and snacks
- We ask that nothing containing nuts comes into the club, including sun cream
- Water refill points are available on site
- Allergies and dietary requirements are recorded at booking and shared with the staff who need them
Allergies
We ask families not to send anything containing nuts, and we rely on everyone supporting that so children with allergies stay safe. Because families provide their own food, we cannot guarantee a nut-free or allergen-free environment, so please tell us about any allergy at the time of booking.
Our staff have had EpiPen training and follow the medical plan you give us. Where we provide food ourselves, we check ingredients for allergens, keep allergen information, and use separate preparation areas and utensils to avoid cross-contamination.
When we provide food
At clubs where Hyett Education provides meals or snacks, all staff involved hold a Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification. We follow the Food Standards Agency’s Safer Food, Better Business framework, with documented checks for storage temperatures, cleaning, separation of raw and cooked food, and allergen control.
