Our safeguarding promise

Keeping children safe comes before everything else. Tech Tigers sessions are run by DBS-checked, paediatric first aid trained specialists, with full insurance and a Level 3 Designated Safeguarding Lead always on site or on-call. We handle children’s data and photos with care, as set out below.

DBS-checked specialists

Every session is led by an experienced STEM specialist with an enhanced DBS check. Volunteers are never left alone with children.

Safeguarding-trained team

All staff complete safeguarding training every year and follow Keeping Children Safe in Education. A Designated Safeguarding Lead, trained to Level 3, is always on site or on-call. Concerns are reported immediately, in writing and verbally, and we liaise with the local authority safeguarding team where needed.

First aid and insurance

Sessions run with paediatric first aid trained staff and full public liability insurance. We follow clear drop-off and collection procedures.

Photographs and phones

We only photograph children with parental permission, and only on a designated club camera or iPad. Staff, children and visitors do not use personal mobile phones to take photographs at our clubs.

All children welcome

Our team is experienced in supporting children with SEND, including autism and SEMH needs. We ask about each child's needs, interests and what helps them at the time of booking, so staff can plan around them.

Children's data and GDPR

We collect the minimum personal data needed to run a booking safely, store it securely, and never share it for marketing. You can ask us to access or delete your data at any time. Read our privacy policy.

If you have a concern

Speak to a member of the club team at any time, or email hello@techtigers.co.uk and a Designated Safeguarding Lead will respond. If a child is at immediate risk, contact the police on 999. You can also contact the NSPCC on 0808 800 5000, or Childline on 0800 1111.

If your concern is about an adult working at one of our clubs, you can go straight to the local authority instead of coming to us. For clubs in Wolverhampton, contact Wolverhampton Safeguarding on 01902 555392, or 01902 552999 out of hours. For clubs in Staffordshire, contact the Staffordshire Education Safeguarding Advice Service on 01785 895836, or Emergency Duty Services on 0345 604 2886 out of hours. For clubs in any other area, contact the safeguarding team (LADO) at the local council for the club’s location; every council publishes its contact details online, and we can point you to the right team if you’re unsure.
