Are coding clubs worth it?

For most children, yes. A good coding club builds problem-solving, resilience and confidence, not just technical skill, and the hands-on, social setting keeps children engaged in a way that apps at home rarely match. The value is in the habits of mind as much as the code.
What a good club actually gives your child
Beyond coding, children learn to break problems down, test ideas, cope when something doesn't work, and try again. Those habits carry into maths, science and well beyond the screen.

Apps and videos can spark interest, but a club adds structure, real kit, a knowledgeable adult and other children to bounce off. That combination is what keeps most children coming back.
